There is already unofficial Duke Faction. Also unofficial Realm faction (with monsters from Realm667) I don't know about Doom 64 (that would be the same as Doom but with different sprites), though there is a chance of an unofficial Doom64 faction being made. But the only two official new factions that are planned are Hacx and Harmony. Also I would like to see Blood faction, and it may be made as an unofficial faction. But AFAIK official factions are only from Doom Engine games. Also known as Luka$ on Skulltag, and Luka Aleksic in real life Joined: 04 Apr 2010 Location: Belgrade, Serbia. Hmm, it's well-documented (somewhere) that Ventris doesn't take faction requests, and I know for a fact this has been suggested many, many times.

If any are ever to get done in the future, it will be Harmony and maybe Hacx, but as far as I've heard, they're not top-priority. Making an entire faction is a lot of hard work, especially as more and more get added. Every creature needs to be balanced with each other, with everything from the other factions, and given unique abilities to stand out from the other factions a bit. Not exactly a cake walk, that. He's said again and again that a Duke facton is not going to happen, yet countless people still insist on asking for it. Would you torment Randy this way over a feature he has said no to? Lifecam Vx-6000 Driver Windows 7. Wolfenstein, Duke 3D, and Blood are not going to qualify for one reason in particular: They are not supported natively by ZDoom. TCs that 'port' these games to ZDoomby emulating their behavior don't count. And as for them being supported natively, really I think there are more important things to develop than making ZDoom yet another Wolf / Build engine.

Make an original game in the ZDoom engine however, and it will probably be considered! German sausage is the wurst. Joined: 21 Jul 2009 Location: traveling around inside a hug •. There are certain requirements before a faction is eligible for official and supported inclusion in ZDoom Wars.

These rules were originally more lax, and then I learned about 'Quality control' and tightened up the regulations. Faction ideas must pass each of these rules, to be considered in the order they are typed here. If you are unwilling to read them, do not make faction suggestions.

The original source of the content of the faction MUST be the Doom Engine. I.e., Duke 3d is not eligible, as it is build engine. Some have tried to bring up a technicality via ZBlood, however, the content of ZBlood originated from, well, Blood, which is a BUILD engine game. Note that Wolfenstein was NOT based on the Doom Engine, and is disqualified on pretty much every other requirement anyway. GuiGui tried to make an argument for Duke3d that was something along the lines of bypassing this rule because both Duke3d and Doom are FPS's.

This argument wears a helmet and drools on itself, and I might just reject your proposal purely out of spite if you bring it up. Don't bring up semantics, the meaning of the rule is clear to all who are not retarded. If the desired faction does not pass this rule, its repeated request will be met with instant verbal abuse. The content must have all originated from a singular wad or wad series, intended to be used together as one set of enemies. They must also have a majority of custom graphics.

A well-done edit with much different behavior from the original may be withstood to a degree, but a faction entirely or mostly of edits is out of the question. This eliminates any 'beastiary faction' ideas, as well as wads which include the original Doom monsters, such as Cold as Hell. If the wad is part of a series of wads which are similar enough to use as a single faction, each part of the series must fit all criteria. As you can see, this narrows the field of possibility significantly. If the faction in question does not pass this rule, its repeated request will be met with snarkiness, followed by simple, childish insults if the matter is pressed. There must be an overall change in monster behavior significant enough to predefine some battlefield roles.
