Having exactly the same problem! Unable to find any newer drivers, but it did work ok in Vista 32bit, so not sure why it doesnt in Win 7 64bit! I have just upgraded to Win 7 and now also my Pana NV-DX100 will not get picked up for video transfer.

Same as Edwin, the device controls work which is really strange as it picks it up as a Panasonic Device and can stop start FF RW etc but no video appears for capture. Same problem using Windows Movie Maker. Windows Update Agent Version Not Found Windows 7.

Lights are on but noone is in! Didnt work with Cyberlink Power Director 8! Keep also getting the error message 'The video device is currently in use. Close any other program that is usind the device and try again. If you need to start Import again, turn off your import device and then turn it on again' Tried disabling and enabling the 1394 driver in Device Manager and also tried running Window Photo and Movie in Window XP mode but still getting the same error! Running out of ideas now, apart from going back to Vista 32bit where it all worked so fine!

How dare I say that!! (Im actually thinking Im preferring Vista now! Had no problems at all with that OS! ) Anyone else have any bright ideas apart from throwing away an Excellent Camcorder or ditching Win 7? JUST FOUND THE SOLUTION ON ANOTHER WEBSITE, BUT THIS SHOULD EXPLAIN IT IN MORE DETAIL! AND IT WORKS STRAIGHT AWAY! PROBLEM IS YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE FIREWIRE DRIVER AS FOLLOWS!

GO TO CONTROL PANEL/SYSTEM/DEVICE MANAGER. EXPAND IE1394 BUS HOST CONTROLLERS RIGHT CLICK ON THE 1394 OHCI COMPLIANT CONTROLLER AND SELECT PROPERTIES THEN DRIVER! CLICK 'UPDATE DRIVER' NOW IMPORTANTLY SELECT 'BROWSE MY COMPUTER FOR DRIVER SOFTWARE' THEN SELECT 'LET ME PICK FROM A LIST OF DEVICE DRIVERS ' SELECT '1394 OHCI COMPLIANT CONTROLLER (LEGACY) NOTE YOU ARE SELECTING THE OLD LEGACY DRIVERS WHICH WILL WORK!

CLICK NEXT AND THE DRIVER WILL INSTALL AND YOUR PROBLEM IS SOLVED! BEST REGARDS PAUL. Hi Edwin van Eck, Welcome to Microsoft Answers.
