I looked for this post on here and could not find through Steam. It is an older post by Coconut33. So thanks to him I got my game working. I have tried many differents 'fixes' over the years and none worked. This one does. At least for me.

I bought Railroads when it first came out and loved it. But it always crashed. When I saw it was on Steam I had hoped it was repaired but it was not. I downloaded the EXE (FIX #1) and installed it. Make sure you turn Steam off and just follow the simple directions. Then restart Steam and enjoy.

Always virus scan any files you download. I am running WIN 7 64 Bit with a I7-4790K with 16 GB Ram and R9-290 Video Card.

Happy Gaming. I tried fix #1 but when I try to run that download, I keep getting a BINKw32.dll missing. Any suggestions?? I tried the other way to manually put in but for some reason I get issues running that way as well Windows 7 64Bit AMD Phenom II x 4 965 Processor (4cpus) --3.4 GHz 16384MB Ram 4 x 4MB Memory Chips running DirectX 11 Any help would be really nice.

This is running the game with or without mods. I am using the original CD that came out long ago( NO STEAM Involved) Just running the game normally, I can get crashes. Crashes the higher you get.

Would like to add a lot more mods to the game so I need to get it crash proof I have tried the BCEdit using both numbers, still crashes. I have tried the create seperate folder, but no matter how many times I press 'A' in CMD mode, it keeps telling file not added.

That one may be on me for not pulling out the cobwebs & figuring it out correctly. Doing #1 you should only be moving one file out and one file in. It should not be anything other than the Railroad.exe. Did you move the whole folder? Here is what I got this from Tom's Hardware on BINKw32.dll Binkw32.dll errors are caused by issues that the particular game you're trying to install or play is having with the Bink Video codec created by RAD Game Tools, Inc. Copy the binkw32.dll file from your game's System directory to your game's root directory.

In some games, the binkw32.dll file is placed in the wrong directory when the game is installed. For example, if your game is installed in C: Program Files Game, copy the binkw32.dll file from C: Program Files Game System folder to the game's root folder at C: Program Files Game. Copy the binkw32.dll file to your Windows System directory. Some people experiencing binkw32.dll errors have fixed this problem by copying the binkw32.dll file from its location in the game's installation folder to the C: Windows System folder. Other Options.

Reinstall game. Install updates/patches 3.

Update video card drivers. Download and install RAD Video Tools.
